ABOUT
Welcome to Elevate Your Interview (EYI) – Interview preparation specifically for those applying to a dental residency. My name is Jordan and I am currently an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery resident in Chicago, IL. Between applying to dental school and residency, I have had my fair share of interviews, learning much along the way. I started EYI based upon my own experience of applying and interviewing for OMFS residency and the lack of resources available to improve my interviewing skills. Although there are other interview preparation companies, most are not geared towards dental residencies, and hence, may not ask the best questions or provide quality feedback. After matching into my top program, I began holding "mock"interviews to help fellow colleagues applying to residency, who seemed to benefit from their sessions. My hope is that Elevate Your Interview can do the same for you.
What To Expect?
At EYI, we pride ourselves on 1. Specializing in interviews for dental residency and 2. Individualization. By reviewing your personalization survey, CV, and personal statement ahead of time, expect to be asked specific questions related to you. This is important because it mimics a similar process used by dental residencies.
Each session is one hour, consisting of an approximate 30 minute mock interview followed by a 30 minute debriefing.
The mock interview is treated as if you are interviewing at your #1 program in real time. There are no disruptions or pauses because at EYI we believe you must practice how you play. Hence, most people consider our interviews very challenging. If you are looking for easy interview preparation, you may want to look somewhere else.
During the debriefing, we will review your answers to each question and provide dental specific feedback. We can do this because our interviewers have been in your shoes.
